Volunteer orientations and background checks are required for our ongoing volunteer opportunities working closely with Resource Center guests.

Activities that require an orientation including the following:

Volunteer orientations are not required for meal service or donation center volunteers or for other one time activities.

Background Checks:

After you have completed orientation, you will be sent an email to create or update your volunteer account. Once you have completed this step, you will receive an email to complete your background check online. Background checks are paid for by The Road Home and are usually processed within 24-48 hours.

Date/Time:  

Orientations are generally held onsite at the Connie Crosby Family Resource Center (529 W. 9th Ave. Midvale) the 1st Wednesday of the month at 5pm except in June, July, December & January and last about 1 hour. In January an orientation will be held on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 5pm.

Orientations provide information about The Road Home and available volunteer opportunities and go over policies & procedures that volunteers are expected to follow. Please email volunteer@theroadhome.org with any questions or concerns.
