Volunteer: Meal Service at the Aging & Medically Vulnerable Program (MVP)

Overview 

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at The Road Home's Aging & Medically Vulnerable People Program (MVP). We are grateful for your support!  This facility provides meals, shelter, and other resources for up to 165 guests. We are open 24/7, 365 days a year for our guests and provide three meals each day.  This opportunity invites individuals and small community groups to serve breakfast & lunch at the MVP Facility for shifts of 2 hours. You will assist staff in preparing food, serving meals, sanitizing/cleaning the kitchen/dining room, assisting guests and more. Breakfast is served from 7:25 am-8:45 amLunch is served from 11:30 am-1:30 pm

Requirements   

All volunteers must be at least 12 years old and wear closed-toed shoes. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. A food handlers permit is Not required to participate in this opportunity. This facility can accommodate 3 volunteers per shift.

We are also looking for adults ages 18+ (groups and individuals welcome) who are interested in leading an activity on a weekday afternoon. Basic craft supplies may be available upon request. Activities can include, but are not limited to the following:

Art Class

Craft Time

(Card Making, Jewelry Making, Origami, Crocheting, Flower Arranging)

Performances/Entertainment

(Musicians and Musical Groups, Karaoke, Dance, Improve/Theater, Magic)

Games

(Board Games, Cards, Puzzles, Trivia)

Poetry Reading

Book club

Please note, if a slot has already been filled, you are signing up to assist with a planned activity.
