This facility provides meals, shelter, and other resources for up to 375 guests. Dinner is served every day from 4:30 pm-6:30 pm. We can accommodate up to 10 volunteers during weekday dinner service. Feel free to prepare whatever you would like for dinner, we do not plan for specific allergies or diets. We have seen everything from pizza and sandwiches to breakfast for dinner, grilled cheese and soup. You can plan on serving approximately 150 individuals, including 90 children and 60 adults. We ask that you arrive with all foods prepared and ready to serve. You will have 30 minutes to set everything up, take photos, review our food service guidelines and ask any questions. We will begin serving at 6pm and cleanup at 7pm. We ask that you limit your group to 10-15 people and that all children are at least 5 years old and are able to stay directly with an adult. We also ask that you plan to bring everything that you will need to serve the meal, with the exception of tables, as we do not have a stocked food service kitchen. Here are some items to consider: Food (please try to provide healthy options as we serve growing children who need nourishment) Healthy main dish including some type of protein Side Dishes Vegetable Fruit (optional) Other (optional) Drink (water, milk, juice, etc.) Dishes Plates, cups, bowls Forks, spoons, knives Serving Utensils (spatulas, spoons, tongs) Bags & Plastic Wrap (for leftovers) Food Safety Supplies Coolers Warmers Extension Cords & Power strips (for crock pots and warmers) Gloves (REQUIRED while serving)Please email Volunteer@theroadhome.org to schedule a date.
